As our Junior IT Support Technician, you’ll play a key role in powering our exclusive Minecraft server, designed to connect and empower a diverse community of players. Work closely with your Community Manager, and immerse yourself in a role that blends technical skills with community impact.
The Junior IT Support Technician is responsible for assisting with the technical facets of Minecraft server management and development, with a focus on supporting cross-platform accessibility and gameplay optimisation. Minecraft server development knowledge, including proficiency in Java programming language and YAML configuration are integral skills for this role. Technical tasks include software installation, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance.
You'll be supported under the guidance of experienced team members, collaborating on server development projects while gaining valuable skills and knowledge. As part of the role, the Junior IT Support Technician will be engaged in formal training and development to enhance skills in IT support, server management and development.
Your proactive approach to problem-solving, effective communication skills, and a dedication to creating a welcoming and enjoyable environment for all players are key to success in this role.

Keep Our Game Strong: Install, update, and manage the nuts and bolts of our Minecraft server. Think software setups, server configurations, and gameplay optimisations that keep every player hooked and happy.
Build Our World: Collaborate on cool server features and custom mods. Help plan and roll out epic community gaming events that everyone will be talking about.
Level Up Your Skills: Jump on training opportunities to boost your tech prowess. Whether it’s mastering IT support or developing top-notch server management skills, you’re set to grow.
Speak Geek with Us: Stay connected with the team. From updating the Community Manager about the latest server tweaks to brainstorming new ideas in team meetings, your voice matters here.
Software Installation and Configuration:
Utilise Apex server hosting for Minecraft server backend management. This includes configuring server settings and managing ftp file uploads.
Install, configure, and update necessary software for Minecraft server operation, including plugins and mods required for enhancing gameplay and server functionality.
Server Management, Development and Optimisation
Cross-Platform Accessibility Support: Ensure the Minecraft server is accessible and optimised for players on different platforms (PC, console, mobile) as much as possible, considering the limitations imposed by the game's architecture.
Gameplay Optimisation: Collaborate with team members to implement and refine server features, game modes, and custom plugins or mods that enhance gameplay and player engagement.
Discord Server Management: Manage the community's Discord server, which involves managing channels, monitoring Minecraft server performance, and reporting any concerns to Community Engagement Manager.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
Identify and resolve technical issues affecting server performance, accessibility, or user experience. This includes debugging problems, optimising server settings for performance, and ensuring uptime and reliability.
Participate in testing new features and updates, ensuring they meet quality standards.
Support Documentation:
Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation and tutorials, including server guides or troubleshooting support for players of the Minecraft server.
Key Accountabilities:
During each shift, monitor server console for warnings, errors, or messages that could indicate performance issues, security concerns, or bugs affecting gameplay
During each shift, scan relay channels for any player reports or automated alerts. Communicate any potential concerns or player feedback with the Community Engagement Manager
Document any tasks or technical issues that require follow-up in Asana task board. Categorise based on severity urgency and type (e.g. technical, gameplay-related)
Promptly address technical issues, documenting resolutions, and escalate complex problems to Community Engagement Manager as necessaryRadno iskustvo:Java programming and experience with Minecraft server environments
